Dentist Greenville SC - Five Star Reviews
Five star review from Google
Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

Fighting the battle against chronic infection with oxygen therapy from your dentist in Greenville

We tend to view dentistry as the field in which our teeth and gums are preserved, restored, and enhanced. However, you could say that dentistry consistently battles infection. In fact, oral hygiene is aimed at decreasing the amount of harmful bacteria that live in the mouth. Why? Bacteria can lead to infections that cause cavities, and gum disease.

From as early as 1930, forward-thinking dentists incorporated the use of oxygen therapy into their practices. Today, you can benefit from this biological treatment with your dentist in Greenville. The use of oxygen makes sense in the medical and dental setting. When you look at the two primary life-sustaining nutrients as being water and oxygen, it seems logical to make the most of these elements when treating disease and rebuilding optimal health in the mouth and the rest of the body.

Dental Ozone Therapy from Dr. Palmer

Oxygen and ozone – how they differ

Oxygen therapy could also be called ozone therapy, with ozone being a compound based on oxygen atoms. Ozone forms when lightning or ultra-violet energy reconfigures oxygen atoms, making groups of three. Earth's atmosphere is protected by a layer of ozone at altitudes up to 100,000 feet. This layer absorbs ultraviolet rays, which would otherwise cause harm to human existence. Some people associate ozone with smog. In reality, it is a by-product of this environmental compound, constantly cleaning our atmosphere with its oxidative power.

The background on oxygen and ozone is important because it allows us to see the immense benefit of this compound in dentistry. Being an amazing oxidizer, very low concentrations of ozone has the power to kill parasites, viruses, fungi, and bacteria. At the same time, these low concentrations are safe for our bodies, producing no side effects. This approach provides a viable alternative to antibiotics and other medications.

Ozone therapy is extremely useful in dentistry, stopping bacteria by removing the acidic environment in which they thrive.
