Dentist Greenville SC - Five Star Reviews
Five star review from Google
Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

CEREC crowns from your dentist in Greenville, SC makes sense for a variety of reasons

Dental science has consistently evolved over centuries, with research leading to innovative new techniques, the use of new materials, and better results for patients. The advances in dentistry allow your dentist to repair damage to teeth quickly and effectively, as well as make improvements that lead to greater aesthetic appeal. A truly valuable dental treatment should not only offer convenience, but also superior performance over previous treatments.

CEREC is one such advance in dentistry, often used for the fabrication of crowns or veneers. In our Greenville, SCholistic dental practice, we are pleased to offer our patients this type of restoration. Much of the time, CEREC is praised for the speed in which dental crowns are made. Though saving time is an attractive benefit, there is much more about CEREC technology that makes it appealing.

Compatibility

CEREC restorations are fabricated in our office from high-quality ceramic material. The ceramic used closely resembles natural enamel in several ways, which makes a CEREC crown more compatible with natural tissues and surrounding structures than alternatives such as metal. An all-ceramic crown will be gentler on tissues, yet strong enough to handle bite force for many years. Ceramic is also similar to natural enamel in the rate at which expansion and contraction occurs when the material is exposed to heat. This characteristic leads to superior fit.

Preservation of natural tooth structure

As much as possible, dentistry is about preservation of natural structures in the mouth. Even when a tooth has been damaged by a large cavity or trauma, there is a benefit in leaving as much remaining tooth structure intact as possible. CEREC inlays and onlays are bonded to teeth for repair, which forms a continuous structure without the need for excessive alteration. Conventional fillings rely on mechanics for retention. This means that a greater portion of the tooth must be removed for a proper fit.

Appearance

Though the appearance of a repaired tooth is not indicative of successful treatment, we are now far more concerned with aesthetics than ever before. CEREC crowns, inlays, and onlays look just like natural teeth, allowing you to feel fully confident when you speak, laugh, or smile. No one can tell which teeth are natural and which have been repaired.

Longevity

One of the primary goals of restorative dental care is the longevity of the restoration itself. CEREC restorations have been used for more than thirty years. In this time, dental professionals have been able demonstrate the success of CEREC restorations, with many of the original patients still reporting full function.
