Dentist Greenville SC - Five Star Reviews
Five star review from Google
Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

Zirconia bridges from your dentist near Greer are long lasting solutions to missing teeth

A dental bridge is a common treatment option to restore function and an attractive smile after the loss or extraction of a tooth or a few teeth. A bridge is made of high quality material that resists fracture and is bonded to two healthy teeth on the outskirts of the empty space. The zirconia dental bridges that we design in our office near Greer provide long lasting solutions to missing teeth, and we give our guests the education and follow up care to maximize the potential of such restorations.

It is possible to have a dental bridge serve your functional and aesthetic needs for a lifetime, especially when oral hygiene is performed properly. Brushing and flossing as recommended by your dentist not only keeps a bridge in good condition, but these practices also work to prevent the dental conditions that could result in inflammation and infection in the gums and surrounding teeth.

A bridge can be kept in its strongest condition through care such as avoiding chewing on hard foods such as ice, or hard objects like pen caps. Professional care including cleanings with our skilled hygienist is also recommended for the proper maintenance of a dental bridge.

How long a dental bridge may last is dependent on care, and is determined somewhat by the type of dental bridge. Dental guests may require the traditional design, or a Maryland or Cantilever bridge. Maryland bridges tend to be more conservative because they are not invasive to adjacent teeth. This type of bridge includes an artificial tooth anchored to surrounding teeth by bands. A traditional bridge is the most commonly used for long lasting tooth replacement. A traditional bridge is affixed to adjacent teeth with dental crowns, which are fused to the artificial tooth. A Cantilever bridge is used when teeth remain only on one side of a gap.

Typically, the longest lasting bridges are the traditional type. Cantilever bridges, because support is present only on one side, have a shorter lifespan. When a tooth has been lost and teeth remain only on one side, a dental implant may be the most suitable treatment for maximum efficiency and longevity.

Tooth replacement with a bridge or implant-supported restoration is tailored to your specific needs at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry. Contact our office today for more information on tooth replacement treatment.
