Dentist Greenville SC - Five Star Reviews
Five star review from Google
Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

Dental cavitation treatment available at Greenville, SC area dental facility

Dental Cavitation Treatment near Greenville SC
While many guests know what a cavity is, many are unfamiliar with dental cavitations. Dental cavitations are infections of the jaw bone. A hole can be present after a tooth is removed and can become a progressive disease that impacts the smile, including reduced blood supply to the jawbone and holding of heavy metals and chemicals that can harm the body. Dental abscesses associated with failing root canal treated teeth are also cavitations.

What are dental cavitation symptoms?

Cavitations may be difficult to diagnose because they typically do not show any signs or symptoms. Guests are often unaware there is a problem until they experience pain from Neuralgia Inducing Cavitational Osteonecrosis or NICO. This is a lesion that results in the discharge of bacterial toxins that can cause health problems including extreme fatigue. Guests with this condition may experience:
  • A severe toothache
  • Lesions on the jaw
  • Referred pain to other areas of the body
  • Other medical issues

What can cause dental cavitation?

An increased risk of dental cavitation can occur due to:
  • Bacteria from tooth extractions
  • Incomplete removal of the periodontal ligament during tooth extractions
  • Root canal infections
  • Lowered or ineffective immune systems
  • Lyme disease
  • Low vitamin D levels

Cavitation dental treatments available

The best treatment option is often surgical debridement of the cavitation in the jawbone and then bone regeneration. Debridement requires the dentist remove abscesses, cysts, and unhealthy bone. Ozone and advanced platelet rich fibrin are used to promote healing with healthy bone.
