Five star review from Google Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

Solea® dental laser technology now offered in Greenville, SC
For guests who fear dental procedures, lasers have brought a sense of relief. Lasers and advanced dental technology have allowed dentists to perform intricate procedures with less guest discomfort or downtime. Located in Greenville, SC, the team at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry is proud to offer Solea® dental laser technology. This laser is a solution for guests who have anxiety about drills or needles as it makes visits to the dentists more pleasant.
Lasers use intense light to target and address dental problems. The laser’s energy is concentrated on problem areas to remove bacteria or infection, cleanse, or cut away tissue. Lasers are faster and more efficient than dental drills. Guests also have noticed less discomfort and easier recovery than conventional dentistry. The Solea® is a CO2 dental laser that can perform multiple procedures in a single appointment, saving guests precious time. Procedures can be performed pain-free and anesthesia-free. No drilling is needed.
The radical breakthrough of laser technology has brought about a number of dental uses. The Solea® dental laser technology is precise enough to work on bone, enamel, dentin, or soft tissues. The computerized controls allow the dentist to adjust the size, speed, and cutting properties. The preciseness of these properties is unlike those in any other dental laser. Lasers have a number of uses in dentistry including:
- Deep dental cleanings
- Removing lesions
- Draining dental abscesses
- Treating gum disease
- Treating cavities
- Removing old fillings tooth colored
The revolutionary technology makes it the first laser that can cut any tissue with a single laser setting. The advanced controls of the Solea® laser make many procedures fast, precise, quiet, and anesthesia-free. The Solea® laser dramatically reduces procedure time and allows your Greenville, SC dentist to perform more offices in the office rather than referring out to a specialist.
Advantages of laser treatment
Laser technology became a part of dentistry in 1990. Since then, laser use has increased enabling dentists to perform more procedures safely and effectively. Aside from the anxiety caused by drills, lasers have a number of benefits in dentistry. Lasers are faster and more effective than drills. Less discomfort or downtime is needed following dental laser treatments. Lasers lack the intimidating sound and smell of drills.
Lasers eliminate the need for knives and invasive surgical procedures. The laser uses a concentrated beam of light which is trained on the lesion to be removed. The energy “cuts away” or vaporizes the tissues while also sealing blood vessels and nerve endings. Aside from eliminating the need for invasive surgery, laser dental treatments have a number of advantages over traditional surgeries or procedures. These benefits include the following:
- Less recovery time including less discomfort, bleeding, and swelling
- Diminished need for anesthesia
- Less scarring
- No stitches needed
