Relaxation/Sedation Dentistry

Getting the South Carolina dental care you need with Greenville sedation dentistry

As a dentist with an eye for opportunities to improve guest experience, Dr. Palmer has established holistic practices that benefit the entire body, as with mercury free fillings, and he works to help anxious guests receive the care they need by offering sedation dentistry. In our South Carolina dental practice, we have met with countless Greenville residents who had long avoided receiving necessary dental care out of overwhelming fear. With sedation, Dr. Palmers ensures that even his most frightened guests will receive dental care without distress.

Sedation dentists understand that a comfortable guest facilitates the delivery of the highest standard of care. Whether used to complete cosmetic treatments, preventative care such as cleanings, or restorative care such as fillings, dental crowns, sedation allows the guest to feel far less affected by what is going on around him or her while they are in our office. It is the goal of our South Carolina dental practice to provide our Greenville guests the best dental experience possible. We never want a guest to feel as though they should “tough it out” and endure any form of treatment when they are anxious about it. This only leads to an avoidance of regular dental examinations, and may negatively impact oral health.

In our office, Triazolam is the sedative of choice. This oral medication, like most sedatives, causes the central nervous system to slow down to a point where anxiety leaves the guest, allowing him or her to feel calm and comfortable. Sedatives used in dentistry do not place the guest into a deep sleep, such as with general anesthesia. Many guests who receive sedation do, however, fall asleep because they are so relaxed. At the very least, sedation allows you to stay conscious but unaffected by external activities. Additional benefits include the side effect of pain reduction, which simply enhances the numbing effect that comes with local anesthetic.

By taking advantage of sedation dentistry in our South Carolina dental practice, Greenville guests feel:

  • No stress or anxiety over dental treatment
  • More positive about the dental experience
  • More open to ongoing dental care
  • Able to undergo multiple procedures in a single visit, allowing them to maximize their schedule

There is no need to avoid dental care because of anxiety. Dr. Palmer has included sedation into our menu of services so that every guest can achieve his or her dental goals. Contact us to schedule your consultation today.
