Dentist Greenville SC - Five Star Reviews
Five star review from Google
Palmer distinctive dentistry was the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. They treat you with respect and everyone is very courteous. Pricing is reasonable and the work I had done was quick and painless. Although the time the doctor spent explaining all the options was priceless.

Dental Implants

As the success rate of dental implants has become more obvious, this innovative root replacement procedure has gained popularity among dentists and their guests. Dental implants are tiny posts, typically made of titanium, which are inserted into the jawbone in a painless procedure. Understanding the potential for negative side effects from metal, Dr. Palmer performs dental implant treatment with Z-Look3 implants as a healthy, non-toxic alternative.

Z Systems

Z Systems is an innovative new technique that ensures everything about the implant, from crown to root, contains no metal. The company offers a one piece all zirconia implant. They are highly biocompatible, more aesthetically pleasing, and facilitate a quick and easy healing process. Z-Systems doesn't just stop with the implants, before the procedure has begun, 3D scanning provides the dentist with knowledge of bone density, location of the nerves, and any abnormalities to help ensure a successful implantation . The implant can be constructed from the digital plans, allowing the guest a shorter time in the dentist's chair. The zirconia reconstruction is prepped just like a natural tooth, and a laser is used to "rough up" the surface, allowing the body to heal around it easily. According to Z-Systems, Inc., implant guests have fewer soft-tissue and periodontic issues, and less plaque on and around the implants than those with metal implants. The Z-Systems implant process is now in its eighth year of clinical experience, and it is still improving, always seeking the safest and least invasive way to treat guests.

All you need to know about Dental Implant Surgery - Dr. John Palmer

Dental implants are the way we can replace a missing tooth to make it function the most like a natural tooth. There are basically two materials used for dental implants in the United States. One material is Titanium, which is a metal. The other material is Zirconia, which is actually porcelain or glass. Zirconia implants are white - so, in the aesthetic zone, we don’t have any problems with them. We can actually prep them, and they don't show through like titanium implants do. They are much more biocompatible - they do not conduct electricity because they are non-metals, and so they do not affect the electron flow or the energy fields of the body. I have been doing zirconia implants for I think 11 years now and actually, I have never placed a titanium implant. Once the implant is in, the crown is put on top of that implant to replace the tooth. I have done implants for the last 11 years, and I have seen implants for other people I have done that have lasted 20 years. It all depends on the patient and it’s going to vary for each patient. And I would tell you, the healthier a patient is, and the better that patient has good nutrition that supports bone, then the longer they are going to last.

Why Z-Look3 implants?

Dr. Palmer is protective over his guests' health and quality of life. Our commitment is to provide our guests with the very best in holistic dental care, which is why we seek metal-free restorations like the Z-Look3 implants. These posts are made from zirconia, a specific type of ceramic that lives very well within the body.

Z-Look3 zirconia implants are beautiful restorations that are white, rather than metal, which eliminates the risk of a dark line forming at the gums. They have been extensively studied and have been proven to accomplish similar results to conventional metal implants, lasting a lifetime with good care.

The implant procedure

Your healthy new smile begins with a thorough consultation at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry, where we will discuss the various factors that are important to successful treatment. We are committed to precision and perform diagnostic testing with the latest technology, including 3D ConeBeam imaging. The clear visualization of details of the oral anatomy allow us to plan with the greatest amount of precision the surgical insertion of implants.

The term "implant surgery" may give the impression that getting implants is a complicated process. In reality, most people can receive implants with very little discomfort, bruising, or swelling. After the insertion of implants, these prosthetics will heal beneath the gum tissue for several months (3 – 6). Once implants have become firmly stabilized through osseointegration, they can be loaded with a crown, bridge, or even a full denture appliance.

Benefits of dental implants

Guests of Palmer Distinctive Dentistry choose dental implants when they want to regain the highest degree of natural functionality after tooth loss. There are several advantages to this procedure compared to conventional restorative care such as dentures. With implants, the stability necessary for comfortable chewing and biting exists. There is no risk that a restoration will slide out of place or rub against the gums like it can happen with dentures. When one or more teeth are replaced using implants, the need to alter healthy tooth structure is eliminated.

Whether you have lost a single tooth or want to replace an ill-fitting denture, dental implants are likely to exceed your expectations. Call (864) 332-4113 today to learn more about implant dentistry.
